Williamstown, WV – 8/1/2024 – Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport is excited to announce that it has been awarded $69,159 in federal funding as part of a broader initiative by U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) to enhance eight airports across West Virginia. The total funding of $7,249,095, provided by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), will support various critical infrastructure projects.
This funding will be used to restore 13,860 square feet of the existing 81,900 square foot non-revenue generating parking lot at Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport. This project will improve the overall functionality and safety of the airport, providing a better experience for all travelers.

Other airports in West Virginia receiving funding include:
- Greenbrier Valley Regional Airport, Lewisburg, WV – $6,507,704: Restoration of 7,000 feet of Runway 4/22 to ensure structural integrity and reduce debris.
- Mingo County Airport, Williamson, WV – $153,598: Reconstruction of 522 feet of perimeter fencing and one gate.
- West Virginia International Yeager Airport, Charleston, WV – $134,940: Construction of a 1,200-foot retaining wall to stabilize the apron embankment.
- Mercer County Regional Airport, Bluefield, WV – $126,288: Aeronautical survey for an area navigation instrument approach for Runway 23.
- Grant County Airport, Petersburg, WV – $93,530: Restoration of 10,300 square yards of the Main Apron pavement.
- Braxton County Airport, Sutton, WV – $72,483: Installation of new drainage ditches, drop inlets, and pipes.
- Upshur County Regional Airport, Buckhannon, WV – $91,393: Installation of a new airport rotating beacon and creation of 10,000 square foot box hangar buildings.
